This is easily the best restaurant in Pittsburgh. Do not let the long line steer you away. The wait is usually 45 minutes to an hour, but the time goes fast knowing you are about to enjoy some pretty amazing food! We ordered the Asado platter, which is 5 cuts of meat. It was $55 and well worth it. The meat was cooked perfectly and was so tender. We also tried the empanadas, cremini mushrooms, broccoli and butternut squash mash. Overall, everything we ordered was tasty.
It is BYOB, but we were informed that at the end of October they will be charging a $10 corking fee. That is sill not bad compared to what you would pay elsewhere for a whole bottle of wine. -

Food very good . The wait outside made no sense as I saw 4 empty tables, 8-12 counter side seats not in use?
Then the weird dieting process?
First we had party of 12... you wait at counter and order individually, then get back in line to pay separately? Weird And inefficient
Meats ordered medium came to table looking medium to Well... got even more well done as stilling cooking on platter... chef should realize that meat still cooks after serving. Overall food was great... next time I order rare or medium rare
All sauces excellent, broccolini side just ok... lacked garlic . The chirozios sausage sweet and spicy was worth trip with roasted peppers, onions.
BYOB I liked but doing away with at bd of October
The Phan dessert was excellent and website doesn't even show desserts? More grilled fish options.. I'll be back and order meat medium rare and raise my stars to 4-5. -

Don't let the line here psych you out-- this place is well worth the wait! Plus waiting 30-45 minutes for some of the best food in the city shouldn't be much of a deal breaker.
Gaucho has a casual counter service set up at the front to place your order. But immediately after you order and pay, you are seated at your own table and its just like any other sit down experience.
A friend and I split the special charcuterie board and the Parillada Mixta so we could try the steak, chorizo and chicken. Everything was incredibly flavorful but the steak was, no doubt, the star of the meal. I'm also a big fan of sauce, and Gaucho gives you a selection of 4 homemade dipping sauces.
*Don't forget its BYO -

This is a unique twist on an Argentine classic! $55 for 25oz and 5x different cuts of meat decent price. The summer squash side was very good with caramelized onions, the best part was mixing the pepper sauce with the garlic give it a try!
Service - everyone was friend / this isn't a restaurant with servers
Ambiance- very modern with hipsters all over
Price $67 for the entree, side and drink
Value - worth it
Taste - steak was cooked well -

This might be my new favorite place to eat in Pittsburgh. It is a meat place and I am vegetarian and it is actually fantastic. You have to order your food at the counter when you get there and have your entire party before you can be seated. This is efficient since there is typically a line. The menu is large and has many vegetarian options. I ordered the small Provoletta and the broccolini with a cold yerba mate. Both were so, so good that I wanted to get back in line and get more once I was finished. The service was good and the place is clean and lively. An definite stop while in Pittsburgh.
